Our story
Gentle, nature-inspired learning for children who thrive in their own time, in their own way.
Where it began
Nurture & Thrive was created by a specialist educator with years of experience working alongside children and young people in SEND and alternative provision settings .
Children who had often been let down by traditional education, who had stopped believing learning was for them, and who needed something entirely different.
What became clear, again and again, was that when children feel safe, when learning connects to something they genuinely care about, and when there is no pressure to keep up or perform something shifts. Curiosity returns. Confidence grows. Learning starts to feel possible again.
Nurture & Thrive exists to bring that experience to every family and setting that needs it.
What We Believe
We believe that every child deserves a learning experience that feels safe and achievable.
We believe that interest is the best starting point there is; that a child who is genuinely engaged will learn more, retain more, and feel better about themselves in the process.
We believe that emotional wellbeing and learning are not separate things. When a child feels settled and supported, learning follows naturally.
And we believe that parents and educators supporting children who learn differently deserve resources that are straightforward, warm, and genuinely useful, not complicated, clinical, or overwhelming.
What we do
We create gentle, nature-inspired learning resources for children who need a different approach.
Our resources are used by home educating families, alternative provision settings, PRUs, SEMH provisions, and therapeutic environments across the UK.
Everything we make is designed to feel calm, achievable, and real , rooted in the natural world, built around genuine interests, and free from the pressure and comparison that can make learning feel impossible for some children.
Our three learning ranges: A Day At..., Explore & Create, and Learning Through the Year — offer flexible, interest-led learning that children can work through at their own pace, in their own time, in whatever way works best for them.
What makes our resources different?
Every Nurture & Thrive resource is written by someone who has sat alongside learners like yours, who understands what it feels like to find a topic that finally sparks something, and what it means to a child to complete something and feel proud of it.
Our resources are gentle without being simplistic. Structured without being rigid. Accessible without talking down. And where accreditation is available, your child can receive nationally recognised certification for their work, without exams, without pressure, and without any of the usual barriers.
